CANON's new entry-level DSLR, the 1200D, will go on sale next month.
The 18mp camera uses the APS-C CMOS sensor, making it compatible with EF-S lenses. It has Canon’s DIGIC 4 processor and will shoot video in HD at 1080p.
A companion app for mobile devices and tablets allows users to explore the camera's settings and features. The camera, aimed at first time DSLR users, operates in the ISO range of 100-6400, although this can be expanded to H: 12800.
For continuous shooting, it can capture 69 jpeg files at 3 frames per second.
The 1200D body only will retail £349.99 when it's released in March 2014.
Canon has also announced the release in May of the latest iteration of its PowerShot G series, with the PowerShot G1 X Mark II.
